The Bernie Pleasants Auctioneering School will provide education for potential auctioneers in the century old art of being an auctioneer and to impart knowledge about the complexities of the auction method of marketing.
In the marketplace today almost everything is sold by the auction method, and we endevor to provide current information on all aspects of this business, marketing concepts, different fields of the auction business, and state and national auctioneering organizations through class instruction, field trips, and first hand experience.
It is our goal to encourage ethical conduct in all aspects of the auction profession and to promote professionalism in our industry. Virginia state, local, and national laws and regulations pertaining to auctioneering and auctioneers will be introduced and discussed.
We are concerned with providing individual instruction as well as group interaction during class sessions and field trips. During instruction, all knowledge needed for the Virginia state auctioneer's examination and for the acquiring of a Virginia state auctioneer's license will be provided as instructed by the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulations and the Virginia Auctioneer's Board.
